I have tested my hdd for errors as well. ) I will run it for a few more passes tonight. ( I understand that 95% of errors appear in the 1st pass. I have ran memtest for 1 pass, with no errors. So does this mean that its a software issue? Since both discrete and integrated card, does not work. I have tried starting games with the integrated card, but the game still crashes. I have restored my X51 to factory default settings using Alienrespawn, and it does not solve the problem I have also tested my GPU with 3DMark11, and it hangs at the graphics test. I have rolled back my driver and also updated to the latest driver to no avail. Having said that, the kernel mode driver just crashed as I am typing this. I am guessing that the nVidia kernal mode driver failure is causing all my problems while gaming. So what happens is that it just crashes, with the 'nvidia kernel mode driver has stopped responding and has recovered' popping up,ġ) Turning off Vsync, in the games as well as in Nvidia ControlĢ) Setting Power Management Mode in Nvidia Control to Max Performanceĥ) Tried downgrading drivers to 335.23 and 332.21Ĩ) Following this, increasing GPU processing timeġ0) Turning on Game Booster while playingġ1) Closing Avira, and other anti-virus programs while playing In both cases, the 'nvidia kernel mode driver has stopped responding and has recovered' did not pop up, which leads me to error 2Ģ) So i decided to try a third game for the heck of it, Tropico 4. But I am able to continue playing by alt-tabing out and then alt-tabing in. So I tried Trine 2, the game will hang/stutter. When it alt-tabs, I THINK the computer refreshes? Cause at the bottom of the screen, a line stating my resolution appears, similar to what appears when i first turn my computer on. I can still hear the sound from the game, but I cant alt-tab/ click back into the game. And i believe they might be inter-relatedġ) When I play Assassins Creed 4, within 5mins of loading the game, the game will hang and alt-tab out to the desktop. Last month, my com started having BSOD, so I cleaned the computer interior, updated all drivers and did all the malware/spyware checks. The issue occured recently, and my com has been capable of playing the game before. Background: I have an Alienware X51 R1, running on I5 proccessor and GTX555 with 8gbram.
